Boxing round timer for iPhone

A boxing round timer that keeps your gloves up.

Time bag work, shadowboxing, and pads with cues you choose: a halfway beep, a spoken ten-second warning, or a countdown before the next round. Set round and rest cues separately, then train without watching your phone.

From plan to timer

Set it before the gloves go on.

The cards use the app’s field names. Here’s how those settings map to your rounds and recovery.

  1. Work is your round. Reps counts rounds.

Set Work to the round length and Reps to the number of rounds per set. Use Sets = 1 for one block. Additional sets repeat the same durations and cues; the app does not build a sequence of differently timed or named drills.

  2. Leave time to prepare and recover.

Get Ready runs once, giving you time to glove up and get into position. Rest separates rounds. Between Sets is the full recovery between blocks, replacing the usual Rest. The timer ends after the final round, with no final rest or cooldown phase.

  3. Set cue times in seconds remaining.

Choose Single cue for one warning, Countdown for each second through 1, or Advanced for a repeat interval and optional play count. Combine up to five cue sequences per phase. A halfway cue is 90 seconds remaining in a three-minute round, or 60 in a two-minute round.

Boxing timer questions

Before round one.

Sound options, training formats, and what to expect from the app.

What sounds can I use for boxing rounds?

Use electronic beeps or spoken remaining numbers for scheduled cues. Separately, set phase-change audio to beeps, fixed names such as “Work” and “Rest,” or off. There is no boxing bell or gong option, and the app does not announce round numbers, custom drill names, or coaching commands. Recorded and imported sounds are not supported.

Can cues play with my iPhone locked and music on?

Yes. An active workout is designed to keep timing and playing cues with your iPhone locked or Sound Cue in the background. Cues can play alongside music; enable Lower Other Audio to briefly reduce its volume during a cue.

Are three-minute rounds right for every boxer?

No single format fits every session. Three-minute rounds with one-minute rests are used in many boxing formats, but two-minute rounds are also used in competition—not just beginner training. Match the length and number of rounds to your coach’s plan or event rules, which vary by age, class, and governing body.

Can I save my boxing timers without a subscription?

Yes. Save, rename, and group separate timers for bag work, shadowboxing, and pads. The free library holds five workouts in total, including the three starter workouts. An optional one-time purchase expands the limit to 100; there is no subscription.
